Thus they research into the matter and proceed to try it. Suffice to say first attempts are bound to be clunky.
That smile on Ferdinand is too radiating for a person, and oh how she—and Hubert, though he would act like he is doing it out of annoyance than fondness—wants to smother him with kisses. “Abusing your power, Edelgard? How dastardly of you! I must right these wrongs!” Ferdinand leans forward to peck her mouth with chaste kisses, and she snorts and smiles against his lips as she returns the favour. His kisses are always so endearing and playful, full of warmth; they are perfectly indicative of his character. She always needs to caress his cheeks, a need equivalent to breathing. When he pulls away he musters a faux look of disapproval towards Hubert, accentuated by a thrust of his chest (the sleepwear highlights his pecs quite well; her respect to the tailor) and a pout. “And you, Hubert! A retainer must be able to voice their objections to their emperor! You can’t simply be a lap dog!” Hubert cocks a brow at him, his face utterly deadpan, always wishing to goad him. A smirk etches across his face, and it really shouldn’t be so arousing to herself and Ferdinand. “Then it is best you teach this dog a lesson, if you so dare.” Ferdinand leans across her to smack his lips against Hubert’s smug lips. She can’t help but chuckle as Hubert pretends that he absolutely loathes it, oh how convincing, especially when he kisses the ‘tiresome buffoon’ back with a hint of a smile. Hubert is still unused to physical affection, so he keeps his hands to himself. But him allowing Ferdinand to grab the back of his neck to deepen the kiss screams volumes of him growing accustomed to receiving such affection from his loves.
