"Open the fuckin' Strait, you crazy bastards!"

Now Iran and Oman EACH extract a million dollars from EVERY ship traveling through the Strait of Hormuz for the foreseeable future. How is that open?

Art of the Deal, my ass. Taco got played.

Murphy just laid it out: Trump gave Iran control of Strait, agreed to enrichment, suspended sanctions, and let them keep their missile, drone, and nuclear programs

After month of bombing, thousands dead, and threats of genocide-Iran got everything they wanted

Huge W for Iran

Your reminder that even if the war truly ended tonight, and Iran let every tanker sail through the Strait tomorrow, oil does not teleport, wells have been shut down and will take weeks or months to reopen, storage facilities have been destroyed, and refining capacity has been significantly damaged.

US and Iran agree to 2-week ceasefire as Trump pulls back on threats U.S. President Donald Trump pulls back on his threats to launch devastating strikes on Iran, swerving to deescalate the war less than two hours before the deadline he set for Tehran to capitulate.

Taco chickened out again. They didn't "open the fuckin' Strait." Iran is still charging tolls.

All this does is give Israel time to restock its interceptors. What a good lapdog bitch Trump is.

I think Iran knows the agreement is nonsense. I do think if they can make the Strait work in almost regular order for a couple of weeks, the world will clamor (bribe) Trump to stop, leaving Iran as the power broker of the ME.

The editorial boards are going to be soooo mad when the Democratic 48th President of the United States doesn't have the Strait fully and freely reopened by Memorial Day 2029.

Before Donald's war, Iran did not control the Strait of Hormuz.

Oil tankers moved freely.

After Donald attacked, Iran cut off travel through the Strait.

Gas prices rose sharply.

Under the ceasefire Trump just negotiated, Iran still controls the Strait.

Art of the Deal? 🤡

Just so we’re clear: The Strait of Hormuz was already open before Trump spent $1.8 billion a day on the most stupid war ever. Now Trump has surrendered and Iran controls the Strait. All the MAGA morons need new hats that say “Make Iran Great Again.”

The United States is WORSE OFF now:

The Strait of Hormuz was OPEN before Trump’s war.

Iran allowed ships to pass through the Strait before the war for FREE.

After Trump’s war Iran is CHARGING ships to pass through the Strait. Oil costs MORE.

What was Trump’s purpose for the war?

139 36 15 4

So before Trump’s war, Iran did NOT control the Strait of Hormuz. And now because of Trump’s war, Iran DOES control the Strait. And will continue to.

What a fucking disaster this illegal war has been. What a fucking idiot Trump is.

Mango is the great deal maker. Iran will charge a toll fee for any ship passing through the Strait: $ 2 million per ship. Oh Yes the US has won this war🤣🤣🤣 give the man the Nobel peace prize.

This is important if accurate, and was also another Iranian demand. If Iran is able to impose tolls in the Strait it would appear Trump made most of the concessions to get this pause. Hopefully it lasts.

Even if this ceasefire holds and traffic resumes through the Strait, the aluminum situation the Trump administration has created for major consumers like our OEMs is absolutely brutal.

Iran will be able to charge fees for passage through the Strait. Before the war, there were no fees. Art of the deal my ass.

The US fully capitulated to Iran and agreed to a '2-week ceasefire'. Iran imposed a $2M toll per ship transiting the Strait of Hormuz, with an undisclosed amount going to Oman. 138 ships pass through the Strait daily, this would generate $276M per day; roughly $3.86 billion over a two-week period.

NYT reporting that under this ceasefire each ship will pay $2M to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.
It was $0 before Trump launched this illegal war.

100-130 ships pass the Strait daily.

Trump just gave Iran an extra $100M-$130M per day.
Masterful gambit, sir.
Impeach and remove this […]

Trump thinks he is the smartest person in the room. He refused to listen to our generals who clearly said, Iran will close the Strait and retaliate. Instead, he listened to BiBi who said they will be too weakened to fight back. Bibi told Trump what he wanted to hear, so we bombed Iran

Fuck israel

Before Trump started his stupid war, it was free for ships to go through the Strait of Hormuz. Now, America will pay millions of dollars for every ship that travels through the Strait. And Iran is going to use the money to rebuild the damage from Trump’s war.

Trump screwed us.

413 157 46 20

If the status quo after the war settles around "Iran now has de facto ownership over the Strait and can levy transit fees at will" this little piccadillo of Trump's will go down as a world historic own goal.

270 53 3 1

So apparently the ceasefire deal includes Iran continuing to charge tolls (split with Oman) on transit through the Strait, as reported by the NYT, AP and others.

If that's true, I have a hard time seeing this as anything other than a capitulation by Trump. Just abject surrender.

982 204 54 18

It gets better. We, the entire rest of the world which buys fuel shipped through the Strait, will get to pay money to the Iranian regime *in compensation* for the damage the US and Israel have done.

Slow clap. 10/10 no notes. www.nytimes.com/2026/04/06/w...

Good news! Iran has agreed to the two week ceasefire; to temporarily reopen the Strait to commercial traffic. Direct negotiations start on Friday in Islamabad. Israel also agrees to cease fire.

Many details unclear, but it's an opportunity to let both sides avoid all out war.
