I think Iran knows the agreement is nonsense. I do think if they can make the Strait work in almost regular order for a couple of weeks, the world will clamor (bribe) Trump to stop, leaving Iran as the power broker of the ME.

This is important if accurate, and was also another Iranian demand. If Iran is able to impose tolls in the Strait it would appear Trump made most of the concessions to get this pause. Hopefully it lasts.

Before Trump started his stupid war, it was free for ships to go through the Strait of Hormuz. Now, America will pay millions of dollars for every ship that travels through the Strait. And Iran is going to use the money to rebuild the damage from Trump’s war.

If the status quo after the war settles around "Iran now has de facto ownership over the Strait and can levy transit fees at will" this little piccadillo of Trump's will go down as a world historic own goal.
So apparently the ceasefire deal includes Iran continuing to charge tolls (split with Oman) on transit through the Strait, as reported by the NYT, AP and others.
If that's true, I have a hard time seeing this as anything other than a capitulation by Trump. Just abject surrender.
It gets better. We, the entire rest of the world which buys fuel shipped through the Strait, will get to pay money to the Iranian regime *in compensation* for the damage the US and Israel have done.

Good news! Iran has agreed to the two week ceasefire; to temporarily reopen the Strait to commercial traffic. Direct negotiations start on Friday in Islamabad. Israel also agrees to cease fire.
Many details unclear, but it's an opportunity to let both sides avoid all out war.
