Purple fleece with neon yarn running stitches in a rough starburst pattern radiating from the center. This is a rustic and experimental piece that looks vaguely like a firework rather than anything embroidered to look like an image. It was made to experiment with fabric manipulation and this shows in the rough stitching and wobbly lines. This description was written by the artist to assist in your understanding rather than by someone being critical while looking at the image.

Went with this one, going to gather this fabric into a #yoyo ball, pop the trailing ends of the #yarn threads into my new #cordbraiding loom, #braid for a while, #brush out the yarn ends, and then… I’m thinking eyes and a body but we shall see.

Smocking is one of my favorite methods of textile manipulation. It’s much more dramatic than quilting and some patterns can be impossible to mass produce

If you want it, you have to do it one at a time.
