The local politics stink right now (recall of 2 councilmembers is a waste) but Yimby Law is really not reading the room: you won’t find anyone in #FairfaxCA who supports this oversized housing project with massive knock-on impacts. We’ll see what happens. www.sfchronicle.com/bayarea/arti...

Shamed to say that my town, #FairfaxCA, is one of those 100 cities.
Black and white image of Marin County’s Mount Tamalpais viewed from Six Points trail intersection near Fairfax, CA. Mt Tam in the distance, a bright sun and blue sky piercing through clouds after the morning’s rains. Middle ground are the mix oak, madrone, and bay laurel forests. In the foreground, grassland sloping away from Six Points.
Mount Tamalpais from Six Points above #FairfaxCA, in between the rains
My hand, holding a quart plastic bag filled with red and orange madrone berries. In the distance the image w 3 horizontal bands top to bottom: a gray lowering sky that reads as fog and more rain; the deep green of the slopes of Mt Tamalpais; the sere grasslands falling away from the Siz Points trail intersection above Fairfax CA
Went back up the trail to gather madrone berries blown to the ground btwn Five Corners and Six Points.
The #Miwok people used the berries as part of their diet, high in ascorbic acid and antioxidants. Thinking we’ll try a chutney for Thanksgiving #indigisky #gratitude #FairfaxCA

2nd growth redwoods, a redwood stump covered with bright green moss, a trail comes into view from upper left curving towards the center of the frame and then climbing the hill towards the upper right corner of the frame. It’s very quiet.
