My raspberry plants are on a mission… and that mission is to take over my entire garden! 😅
It’s amazing to see plants popping up in unexpected corners of my backyard.

Remember how my lilies bloomed in the middle of spring this year? Now it’s time for some cleanup, but I’m being careful not to pull out the bulbs, so they can grow back next year. Here’s how I do it:

I’m so excited for fall planting! They do so well in the cooler 8b zone here in the pnw! #fallgardening #garden #gardening #vegetablegarden #backyardgarden

A single sprout of garlic in a leaf-mulched raised bed.
Nothing to see here. Just garlic being garlic in a warm-ish November. At least I know the cloves I planted are alive and well! 👩🌾

Here’s a handy tip for removing thick, dead plants: cut them at the base, leave the roots, and come back a few days later. The plant remnants dry out faster, making them much easier to pull.
Here I am removing my sunflower roots! 🌻💪

Just harvested our sweet potatoes and I gotta say I am super pumped with how they did! Some of these bad boys are huge! #gardening #garden #fallgardening
One bright red flower looks fresh against the faded bloom of a cardinal flower. The foliage is a deep green flushed with burgundy. Behind it is a large hosta turning yellow
A small pinkish bud grows on a burgundy stem, surrounded by green and burgundy leaves
I took a picture on Saturday of what I thought was my last cardinal flower for the year
Then I checked the plant for damage today (as there's been wind and rain almost daily since Friday), and I found a new bud
It's October 22 and feels like 3°C

Mini figurines arranged on a wood bench. There’s a carnivorous plant (think little shop of horrors), a rusty fence, gravestone with flowers, and a fairy with orange wings holding a basket of pumpkins.
A mini fairy tree house sits on top of a decorative garden stone with the wire fence around the front of it. The carnivorous plant is to the right in front of a bridge, and the gravestone can be seen to the left. The whole scene is surrounded by pumpkins, some painted some not, and florals from a trellis nearby.
A figurine of a tiny mouse wearing a blue denim jacket and red pants with a basket of leaves sits next to a small white pumpkin, a painted orange pumpkin, and various potted plants
A second carnivorous plant is seen lurking in a potted plant of various species.
It’s been a beautiful weekend here in the WV 🌞 what have y’all been up to? 👀 I found these cutie fall mini’s for my fairy house, they’re the perfect excuse to get my fall porch finished!

My backyard with three raised veggie beds at the back. Drying milkweed stems without leaves are visible in the midground. Between those - is a big circle of soil where I sprinkled my fall planting seeds.
My backyard with three raised veggie beds at the back. This image also includes another garden bed and a shrub who has lost most of their leaves in front of part of my shed. Drying milkweed stems without leaves are visible in the midground. The big circle of soil is now no longer visible under the fresh blanket of snow.
Biboon! It is winter! ❄️
Yesterday I sprinkled my fall seeds in that round spot of soil & around my milkweed plants. I tried to time it right before the snow to prevent squirrels from eating ALL of them lol. I’d say I timed it perfectly! 😅
