I don't know if they should do standard hit=mask damage, or if it should take several sustained beats of up-close scuttling to eventually accumulate a mask of damage. In other words, you can die to them if you're bad enough. -A few ways to prevent them from bench spawning on you would be to carry no rosary strings at all, or to equip some kind of tool. I keep thinking Magnetite Dice due to the luck mechanic, but maybe that's too complicated. -In fact, just as I was writing this I'm considering maybe the Magnetite Brooch would be a way to enable their spawning due to its rosary attraction. Y'know, make it so they're not a permanent nuisance but you can willingly enable them if you want to. Maybe somebody with better tool knowhow can fathom this better.
