My 2025 in books finds 9,115 pages read across 37 books. A few days yet before the year closes, but another book seems unlikely. We'll see.

I think my favourite book of the year was The Safekeep by Yael van der Wouden. It surprised me how much I enjoyed it.

If you're thinking of reading The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas then I highly recommend the translation by Robin Buss (Penguin Classics).

Generally considered the best translation, it means you'll get the most enjoyment out of this epic tale of vengeance!
