The lower right corner is illuminated with bright light where Ferdinand is positioned with his back to the vieer, while a darker, blue shadow light overtakes the piece from the upper left corner around where Hubert is positioned. Two ghostly blue-green candles illuminate the mirror lightly, and the same blue-green glow illuminates Hubert from within the mirror.
