A long tree log covered with moss has fallen across Ravenna Creek. There are fronds of licorice fern sprouting along the trunk. The creek shows a couple of sky reflections, but is mostly brown like the duff it runs through.
Licorice fern (Polypodium glycyrrhiza) is growing along this tree that fell across Ravenna Creek. I tasted it to be sure. The trail is downright gluey with mud, and I had to wash the short dog's undercarriage.
