I just figured out the ideal pickup height for Fishman Fluence pickups for modern metal playing. For the fullest possible sound, press down at the highest fret and position the pickup 2-3 mm away from the strings.

The body is made of wood (nyatoh, but tone wood is a myth. Don’t believe their lies) and is pretty light. The bolt-on neck is nicely recessed, as is the input jack and the electronics cavity covers on the back. #FishmanFluence pickups are pretty hot, but sound great.
