Franklin Falls, located near Snoqualmie Pass in Washington, cascades in a tall, narrow stream from the top of a rocky cliff into a turquoise pool below. The rugged cliff walls are streaked with earthy reds, browns, and mossy greens, while dense evergreen forest surrounds the scene above. Mist rises at the base of the falls where the water crashes into the basin, scattering droplets across the rocky foreground. The image captures the raw beauty and energy of this iconic Pacific Northwest waterfall.

I hiked up to Franklin Falls today and the view was worth every step.
