On Saturday evening the Sumac Centre hosts a talk by Alan 'Tash' Lodge, a photographer who has spent his life documenting the free party movement, festivals, protests and the traveller community, including the 'Battle of the Beanfield' - a prearranged police ambush of the peace convoy, which travelled through Wiltshire for the annual Stonehenge free festival in 1985. Alt Text For protest events pasties, cakes and drinks are provided from a table top or bike trailer, or simply boxes of ‘Samosas For Social Change’ on the run. This is often freely provided for no charge, on a d-i-y self-serve basis, with our campaign work supported by donations. For more established events or pre-arranged demo locations home-made Veggies Burgers, hot drinks and other fair-trade snacks are added. For gatherings meals include curries, tabbouleh, vegetable soups, ratatouille, vegetable stews etc with rice, cous-cous, pasta etc and fresh salads, breads and spreads.
