They figured it out eventually of course. These days even 300 hp is considered not especially powerful by ‘car guys’. The most powerful car I ever had was a 340 hp #AudiS4 with a v8. 11mpg around town if I was lucky. Least powerful was a 1966 #FordAnglia “deluxe” 105e with a terrifying 39 hp.
