At left, the canyon rises up to a craggy summit with sunlight playing on its ridges in contrast to the shadows below. The slopes are mostly rock outcrops and talus with only scattered trees, which appear quite small against the huge slopes. Upstream, dark mountains are visible and the sky above is almost entirely filled with clouds.
