Appeal court upholds 20-year sentence for peaceful activist Abdulrahman al-Sadhan ALQST has learned that on 5 October 2021 the Court of Appeal in Riyadh upheld the sentence passed on humanitarian activist Abdulrahman al-Sadhan.

Despite being told that he'd soon be released, Abdulrahman al-Sadhan was brought to trial in March 2021, facing trumped-up charges for peaceful satire on X.

Following a grossly unfair trial, he was sentenced to 20 years in prison.
