Reeds in shades of straw and gold plus a bare tree behind all shine out of dark shadows at the pond's edge as a shaft of sunlight illuminates them

Intentional Camera Movement: looking across the pond in dying pale pinky light, the trees beyond faintly reflected in the still water
"After sunset" at #FrenshamLittlePond for the first #Sharemondays2026 #ICM
Last pale sunlight fades through streaky clouds behind a pond edged with dark reeds and trees. The nearest water is frozen and decorated with various sticks and stones poking out.
Icy at #FrenshamLittlePond this afternoon
Intentional Camera Movement has produced a pale blue veil across deep greeny brown trees reflected in the water
One from #FrenshamLittlePond yesterday afternoon for #Sharemondays2025 #ICM
Looking up through bare treetops at dusk, a plane leaves a trail through a gap to the deepening blue sky. The setting sun is a yellow streak above the horizon.
Largely bare birches alongside a sandy path glow in the last low rays of the sun.
The few remaining bronze leaves on a tree glow in the sun in front of the view down to the silver Great Pond.
"Blue hour", the light almost gone. Trees and reedbeds are silhouetted between the layers of sky and water darkening from pale cream to deep blue.
Lovely late afternoon #FrenshamLittlePond #FrenshamCommon
A small gate sits amongst tall firs at the side of a calm lake where the trees beyond are reflected
Not been out much this week, so here's a repost from Friday at #FrenshamLittlePond for #Sharemondays2025
Looking past tall firs and a small gate to the calm water beyond
Sunlight catches a small patch of the remaining bronze leaves and turns them gold
Sun highlights fluffy reed tops at the edge of the water
A calm scene of reed beds and trees at the water's edge under a clear blue sky
A few from a beautiful morning today at #FrenshamLittlePond
Intentional Camera Movement image: hills in gold to brown reflected across across water plus abstract cross lines from the movement. Gives me the feel of the early evening light and shade.
From #FrenshamLittlePond yesterday evening

A small group of trees in the heather in various yellows
Looking across the tops of trees in greens and golds to sun on a bright green field with a few trees still a deeper green
Golden birch in the sun
Late light on the pond just picks out deep bronzes and greens and reflects them in the water
Autumn colours #FrenshamCommon #FrenshamLittlePond this afternoon 🍂
Dark trees between pale blue sky and deep blue water are surrounded by a fuzzy Intentional Camera Movemement "envelope" exaggerating their shapes
A #FrenshamLittlePond #ICM from yesterday evening for #Sharemondays2025
A large slightly-rippled pond beyond a stone wall reflects grey and white fluffy clouds and pale blue sky. The trees alongside are starting to turn from green to yellowy.
Not been very good at posting pics lately, but here's one from #FrenshamLittlePond this evening. The light at dusk seems to show up the colours starting to turn
Grey heron at the edge of a reed bed in still water, approaching a post and yellow flag irises

Grey heron with slightly ruffled feathers reflected in still water
Grey heron has been doing even more feather ruffling and is now looking distinctly messy

... or even #FrenshamLittlePond 🤦
A sandy path winds down through heather and yellow gorse into trees, now fully green, with sunlight catching the tops
Late sun illuminates the fresh greens of trees round the pond and the pale colours of old stems in the reedbeds
Not the best day for weather but it turned out nice in the end for a walk at #FrenshamLittlePond #FrenshamCommon
Four mallard ducklings follow a female through reedy water, snacking as they go
Bright red and black damselfly rests on a brown twig
A wren calls from a tree trunk, looking as though it's squat body has half disappeared inside
Brown and cream moth rests with its wings spread, blending well with the dead leaves beneath
A few from #FrenshamLittlePond this afternoon: mallard mum and ducklets, large red damselfly, shouty wren and a common heath moth 😀
Looking across calm water to tall firs and smaller deciduous trees, the latter now with fresh foliage in various shades of green. Yellow gorse blooms too. All reflected in the pond.
A rather quick zoom around #FrenshamLittlePond this afternoon on account of the heavens deciding to open just as I went out 🌧️ And then, just as I got round the pond, it stopped. 😊 Had to get the camera out, the colours were so lovely - just at the point where different greens are developing now
Spotted this elegant common tern taking a break on a log at Frensham Little Pond.

Fresh green reed growth and leaves reflected in calm water along with a few fenceposts - difficult to see what's real and what's reflected
A nuthatch looks up from its treetrunk as it works its way down
Apple blossom in the woods - no idea why, maybe someone planted it or a bird dropped a pip?
A path under birch trees with fresh green leaves appearing
Beautiful evening yesterday for a walk at #FrenshamLittlePond #FrenshamCommon
Lovely fresh greens, lots of birds - most too fleeting to catch with the camera but the nuthatch working its way down a tree trunk for food happily looked up 😊
Golden reeds and bare trees edge the pond in pale evening sun
Looking over the reeds and across the pond to more reed beds and dark firs in evening sun
Reed beds and dark firs behind the slightly ruffled pond, late evening sun
Reeds in a bed edging the pond catch the late sun and shine bronze
Beautiful evening yesterday at #FrenshamLittlePond 😊

Silhouetted goldcrest stands camouflaged on a pine tree branch
Dark green pines and bare deciduous trees are reflected in calm water under a blue sky
Lovely morning for a walk round #FrenshamLittlePond
A play with some reedy #ICM, a tiny goldcrest zipping about faster than I could keep up and avoiding the sun as usual, trees reflected in the water 😀
Dark bare trees and pale reed beds line ther banks of a lake while ripples make curved patterns in the water
ICM: Dark trees are blurred behind a lake with grey ones in the foreground. SKy and water are tones of blue-grey.
A workshop assignment today: "Go out in conditions when you wouldn't normally think of taking photos". So, a still late afternoon under almost flat grey cloud. Actually fun. The results aren't amazing but I enjoyed playing with longer exposures and #ICM.

Moss-covered tree trunks rise from mirror-like water in which they are reflected. Small lichen-encrusted branches give them a primeval look

A bit of #TreeArt from this morning at #FrenshamLittlePond
2 "normal", 2 #ICM
Sunlight catches the tops of bare trees behind the pond and a tern raft and small tree on it
Low sun through the trees catching the water at #FrenshamLittlePond this week for #Sharemondays2025
Sun (so bright that this looks like a mono) catches a small sapling on a tern raft in the water and the upper branches of trees behind
A splash of sunlight at #FrenshamLittlePond today
Intentional Camera Movement: a dreamy bank of firs and reeds is reflected in the pale grey water and multiplied over land, fading into the distance
"Blue hour" shot after sunset, except the grey homogeneous cloud has changed the blue sky and water to mauve. A bank of dark firs and bare deciduous trees sits behind golden reed beds, all reflected in the pond.
A couple from #FrenshamLittlePond this afternoon - one #ICM and one "normal" (except that the sky was so grey that "blue hour" became "mauve hour") 😄
Intentional Camera Movement: little light so the water, sky and clouds are a deep bluey grey. Dark tree silhouettes form a wave above the slightly sandy colour of thr reed beds. The camera movement forms patterns in the pond ripples.
Dusk at the pond #FrenshamLittlePond yesterday #ICM
Slender dark tree branches hold a few remaining bronzy-orange leaves. Backed by grey-fawn reeds moving in the breeze and the pond reflecting the grey sky.
Rather grey out at #FrenshamLittlePond today, so time for some #TreeArt 😊
Letterbox panel of bare trees across water, heathland and firs behind. The sky is bright white and the water silver, with reflections where not ruffled by the breeze
Not been out much with the camera lately, so here's another from Saturday's walk at #FrenshamLittlePond
Deliberately over-exposed (honest!) to see what the effect would be and I think I quite like it
