#FullTimeWifeEscapist has lovable characters, an applause-worthy fl, & highly appreciated ml. Refreshingly different than what one suspects, perhaps too good to be true, but also models how easy things could be if we merely acknowledge invisible labor & women as of value. #jdrama 🖤 (2016)

For an enlightened #jdrama disguised as a banal contract marriage between a housekeeper & introverted ML, which shines a light on the inequality for women. Low steam, high cuteness factor, a romance, high rating for social issues/invisible labor/feminism. Feel good.

#FullTimeWifeEscapist receives high marks from me. While some aspects are unlikely, it seems like a more realistic version of how a contact marriage might evolve into a love match. Additionally, its progressive, yet loving aspects make for a unique and heartwarming watch. 🖤

Additionally, it shows a career woman, who still is judged for being single in the way a man wouldn't be and fights for stereotypical attitudes and promotions of what appeals to men or men think should appeal to women to be overruled. #FullTimeWifeEscapist

It was unexpected, but not unwelcome that #FullTimeWifeEscapist takes a quietly progressive stance on issues based on old gender roles that still remain ingrained in society. It discusses the value of housework and recognizes that it is unappreciated, undervalued labor.

It’s also quite interesting as the ml may be demisexual with their burgeoning emotional attachment awakening him & the fl trying to navigate without pushing him. It’s rare to see sexuality in flux shown in a drama, so I’m finding this an intriguing show. #FullTimeWifeEscapist

Additionally, all the side characters are involved in a variety of relationship states from marriage to being single with unique challenges & perspectives, so it’s nice to see diverse thoughts & relationship styles portrayed to think about at the same time.

Though they are slowly figuring it & their own feelings out with greater clarity, I’m happy that there are moments with feels. While some may find it frustrating, I like that there is a struggle between doing the “right” thing & what the heart desires.

The sweet mc are approaching each other and what their relationship is tentatively with care. Though they are good to each other, their employee employer status continues to present difficulties as it should. I like that this #jdrama pays attention to this.

It seems like one of the most realistic #ContractMarriage plots I’ve watched so far. That’s refreshing as typically plots are so exaggerated with unnecessary drama. Little things can be drama enough. Here’s hoping it keeps going in this pleasant direction. #FullTimeWifeEscapist

#FullTimeWifeEscapist is reminiscent of #BecauseThisIsMyFirstLife, but perhaps more appealing early on as both the ml and fl’s thoughts are shared, and the ml, while he doesn’t express everything he’s feeling, is a better communicator. Bonus: so far no outrageous plot twists.

The MC are kind, considerate, and appreciative of one another. While sometimes this consideration leads to a misunderstanding, they seem to work through it. From ep. 2 on, I am really loving this #jdrama. Here’s hoping it continues this way. 🥰🤞🏻#FullTimeWifeEscapist
