Page 1105 of the webcomic Slightly Damned. Kieri: My parents are Khalav Suizahn, the current Throne of the water clan, and Arla. Sixteen years ago, the love between them produced a single egg. They followed ancient tradition and watched over their egg for weeks in the nesting chamber on family grounds. They took turns so the egg was never left unguarded. From one egg came two hatchlings. I hatched first. My family likes to say that Kazai pushed me out. We grew up with other Angels fawning over us. Everyone was so excited to see the Suizahn twins! I assumed it was just because twins were rare. After all, we never saw any other pairs like us. Later I learned that we were the only water element Angels hatched that year. Many fail to have eggs. Many eggs fail to hatch. No other Suizahn eggs have hatched since us. Kazai and I have always been the youngest. Our family's estate is actually too big for what remains of our class, so parts of it are always closed off. A pair of twins was a sign of hope for the future. One day, we would inherit our father's title and become the next Thrones of the clan. ...but we could also be the last.
