On 28 January 2026, IHLYI participated in the informal consultations convened by the Chair of the Group of Governmental Experts on Emerging Technologies in the Area of Lethal Autonomous Weapon Systems #GGEonLAWS under the Framework #CCW The consultations were held virtually.

In light of this alarming testimony, IHLYI calls on the international community to urgently adopt a binding international treaty banning #lethal_autonomous weapons systems and ensuring meaningful human control over the use of force.5/5

Tomorrow, 1 September, the second 2025 session of the Group of Governmental Experts on Lethal Autonomous Weapons (#GGEonLAWS) will open in Geneva. Discussions on the rolling text will continue until 5 September.
