Une faible lueur filtrait à travers les rideaux jaunis, trahissant une certaine activité à l’intérieur. Mont-sur-Marchienne n’était pas vraiment la partie la plus glamour de la Belgique. Mais le café demeurait ouvert, envers et contre tout, malgré la décrépitude ambiante, l’absence d’avenir et la réalité économique étouffante. Les gens marchaient lentement vers cette lumière vacillante, comme des mouches attirées par un cadavre encore tiède.
