This was the 10th Top 10 hit of Queen's illustrious career. It's fun, but surely Freddie and the guys made many songs better than this. Whatever its release date, I'd have ranked it much lower than their three other singles from 1980. It'll be a while before my countdown gets to them.

I gave Queen’s ‘Flash Gordon’ a reappraisal last night, suitably camp and bombastic, nuttier than a box of frogs riding atop sated squirrels…
It didn’t date well even at the time, but it is one of those wonderfully bad pieces of ‘art’ that the world is somehow a better place for.
