"Not completely," she said softly. "I still had the friends I had made while working the shop, and Cyr." She smiled. "And the book club. They were always there for me when I was too lonely." She took his hand in hers. "And I have you, right?" Gale's heart warmed. "Yes. Woe betide anyone who would try to stop me from being at your side." She grinned, a sweet look in her eyes. "You certainly have a way with words." "I pride myself on my vernacular." She laughed and they kissed. "Now, Lia, I promised you dinner at a fine establishment. However, due to recent circumstances, I believe my tower would be a safer option." She grinned. "Oh, that would leave you to walk home alone after sundown," he muttered while taking his chin in his fingers.
