Hacking the system became a little mini game of me vs the AI. It was really cool, somewhere between combat and a battle if wits. But it lost some party cohesiveness. I really want to try it again. #ttrpg #garycon
I was the Netrunner (aka virtual hacker of sorts) & I could see the criticism play out first hand. Everyone at the table was critical at setting up the infiltration except me, then during the infiltration it was ALL me. At some point either the netrunner is idle or everyone else is. #ttrpg #garycon
A super fun game I got to try for the first time at #Garycon was Cyberpunk Red. I hadn't heard very many good things about the system, honestly, but I played Pondsmith's 1e version ages ago and love the genre. #ttrpg

An interesting product I brought back from #Garycon this year are these lovely little books created by Shayla Sackinger with fantasy birds. I got photographed running my first game at #GaryCon a few days ago. Final pic in the selection. I was running my first attempt at Pirates of Dark Water, an out-of-print game based on the Hanna-Barbera cartoon from the early 90s. Not a TCG but a simple #TTRPG. My 18th GaryCon.

One of my favorite sessions at Garycon was Cairn run by the excellent DM @weirdwonder.bsky.social. It's a creepy grim fantasy setting, and her adventure "The Eternal Empress" really leaned into that and was a lot of dark fun. You can buy it on DriveThruRPG and I highly recommend. #garycon #ttrpg
