White children dressed in Native American-themed Halloween costumes, because their parents failed to tell them that a group of humans is not a costume just because they are different from them. Blackface was performed to disrespect the African American people for the entertainment of white people. In Shakespeare's day, men dressed in women's costumes and roles because female entertainers were shunned. So WHY are Drag Queens–commercialized caricatures done not even by women, but men–promoted in modern day, and why do impressionable boys (and girls) need to see them?
