Nicer for my #GettingFit this week because the A38 is shut for #HS2 work - which means the slip roads are shut - which means very little traffic on our main road - apart from the arrogant drivers who think the ROAD CLOSED signs don’t apply to them.
*Much* quieter because of the road closure too...

Pushed into the new housing estate a bit farther along an extra pathway.
OK, yes, breathing hard & everything hurts, but it really does feel like proper progress this week.

Just got back from my #GettingFit walk.
Farthest I've been this year so far - only by 30 seconds or so, but every day I can push on a bit more it helps!

Also, the weather's not very nice.
Forgot to mention earlier - on today's #GettingFit walk I saw my old car out in the wild, the car I sold last year when I gave up driving.
Feels a bit weird seeing it again. I've lost all desire to actually drive again, but I did love that car & it's reminded me of those carefree pre-hospital days!

Pushed on a little bit today, adding a minute or so to the total length of my #GettingFit walk. And felt the extra effort on the last homeward stretch - breathing hard, legs hurting! All good for the fitness levels though...
Went via the railway line - which was lovely.
Made it to the edge of the countryside today - first time this year & also the farthest I’ve walked this year. It’s not quite the equivalent distance to the local shop, let alone the trip back & the hilly bits too.
Hard work & breathless, but it’s progress towards the goal!

I could probably reach it now, but getting there *and* back (+ associated shopping) is currently beyond my fatigue & breathlessness & pain limits.
So I’m going be trying hard until the shop is doable.

They appeared to be gathered, having a chat, perhaps discussing why the puny humans are so stupid and how easy it will be to take over when the time is right.

Not bad. Legs still a bit achy from yesterday, but it feels wonderful to be out.
Few more ~10-min walks & I’ll start adding some extra distance & push on.

It was only ~10 mins, but it’s the furthest I’ve managed in 2026 because of health & the weather. Going to be trying to walk more often from now on, because I'm exhausted & have clearly lost a lot of the vague fitness I did have.

First proper walk today for ~2 weeks because of the recent cold temps & general fitness issues. Legs achy & wobbly, lungs struggling, but happy to be out.
