...and now spends much of her time coding. She is currently working as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Plymouth, where she builds computer-based models of faults, tectonic plates and earthquakes. She uses these models as tools to improve seismic hazard assessments #GiG25 (2/2)

...using marine robotics to study sediment flows. She holds a PhD from the British Antarctic Survey, prior to this working as a Marine Geoscientist at BGS. We’re excited to have Dr. Jenny Gales joining us at #GiG25 hosting a hands-on workshop exploring the secrets of the seafloor! (3/3)

...commercial site investigations for building projects to a big project on the Jurassic Coast itself. She now has recently started working for South West Flood and Coastal looking at stability of coastal cliffs in Dorset and East Devon. #GiG25 (2/2)

From flume modelling to seafloor observation at depths of 10,000 m, she will demonstrate how these tools help us unravel the complex eruptive histories of volcanoes, both on land and beneath the sea. #GiG25 (3/3)

To solve this, scientists use computers to simulate earthquakes over thousands of years. In this workshop you’ll get a hands-on experience in modelling earthquakes on a computer and exploring the invisible forces that make the Earth shake. No coding experience is needed! (2/2) #GiG25
