Streetartwall. A fantastic mural of a huge ship (17 x 8 meters) was sprayed/painted on the outside wall of a five-storey modern clinic building. It is supposed to represent democratic Europe. The large wooden ship hangs below a giant hot air balloon and is populated by bird-like creatures who navigate the airship through stormy weather. The intricate little houses, towers and superstructures of the ship are depicted in fantastic detail and look like a fine pencil drawing. The ship has a figurehead, also a bird figure, the goddess Athena, who points the way with a spear. She stands for wisdom and protects freedom and democracy. It contains historical references, such as a European flag placed in the middle and the depiction of the Palace of Justice in Brussels (below the ship). An anchor hangs down from the ship and reaches up to the clouds. Info: The mural was created on the occasion of the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
