I thoroughly enjoyed #GoodLordBird. Ethan Hawk was an exceptional John Brown, and I think that for anyone wanting to familiarize themselves with his final years, this is an entertaining way to get into his life.

This is true and somehow it was lost on me that it got zero nominations. Although considering about 3 shows are deemed worthy of Emmy noms every year…

Watched first episode of #GoodLordBird tonight. The illustrated opening credits were quite beautiful. Interesting take on zealotry, slavery and the biopic genre itself. Violent and darkly funny, like America. Oh, and Ethan Hawke is chewing up the scenery like there’s no tomorrow.
