Had to re slice some things on my arctops model for printing at life size scale, so I took the opportunity to sculpt in some finer details. We'll see how these transfer to the print, and whether I shoulda overstated them more ;)

A walrus-core inostrancevia huffs the air against a blue sky

I sketched a inostrancevia in a lecture, went more paleoaccurate. There’s something about being in a class atmosphere that makes drawing that much better. And I learn more bc my hands are busy. #sciart #gorgonopsid #gorgonopsian #paleoart #permian watercolor and arrtx markers.

Inostrancevia was a #gorgonopsian - a group of highly successful non-mammalian #synapsid carnivores that existed through much of the #Permian. They were among the first terrestrial predators that specialised in killing & eating large prey, evolving large "sabretooth" canine teeth.
