Check this camera for winter trail conditions. At this time, Bright Angel Trail is open to Havasupai Gardens. However, trail is CLOSED from Havasupai Gardens down to and including the Silver Bridge, through May 14, 2025, for waterline replacement. Drinking water stations at Mile-and-a-Half and Three-Mile Resthouses have been turned off for the winter. Water is only available at Havasupai Gardens. Trees at Cedar Ridge and a Grand Canyon Backdrop (Grand Canyon National Park) I captured this image while walking around and exploring the Cedar Ridge area along the South Kaibab Trail. The setting extends to the west to some nearby Utah Junipers. What drew me into this setting was the old American West feel. There was the red-orange color to the ground, the twisted and gnarled trunks with the Utah Junipers, and then the canyon cliffs along the Rim Trail as a backdrop. I moved around until I found a grouping of trees that seemed pleasing to the eye for this image composition.

Spectacular Overlooks at Ooh Aah Point! (Grand Canyon National Park) A setting extending to the north while taking in views at Ooh Aah Point to eroded formations, buttes, and temples present along the South Kaibab Trail in Grand Canyon National Park. I chose to angle my Nikon Z8 Mirrorless Camera slightly downward to raise the horizon and create more of a sweeping view across the national park landscape. I also wanted to include some nearby foreground to add to the setting.

Use this webcam to help time your South Rim arrival, and to check winter road conditions. During spring break and summer, there can be long lines and up to two hour wait times between 10 am and 4 pm.
