Easter Day Catering with the Regulo : recipe book cover : issued by : Radiation Cookers : ca.1935. Another in the very colourful series of publicity recipe and cookery books issued by the Radiation Group of manufacturers. As ever they're making great play not just of the Easter season - chicks galore - but also their patented 'Regulo' form of gas oven control, a word many modern recipes still give testament to as the word regulo entered the English language. Radiation were a group of companies, headquartered in Birmingham - an early example of a 'combine' of individual manufacturing concerns who came together, in this case Arden Hill of Birmingham, Davis Gas Stove Ltd of Luton and London, Fletcher, Russell & Co Ltd of Warrington, Richmonds Gas Stoves of Warrington, Wilsons & Mathiesons of Leeds and London and John Wright & Co Ltd of Birmingham. Their main 'brand' for domestic cookers was "New World", a long-lived range of appliances. Radiation appear to have possibly given the word "Regulo" to the English language - as they pioneered the use of this version of thermostatic control for ovens that has become a regular usage for gas oven cooking in general along with Gas Mark. The cover is dominated by a repeating pattern of abstract chicks facing left, in orange and yellow, with a greengrass, leaf and bluebell repeat pattern. The title panel on brown background is in the upper quarter.

The second in the middle features wolves' heads in red against black, with paw, tree, moon and star motifs.
