Youth energy forum launches offshore oil and gas training for Nambian youth
The Namibia Youth Energy Forum (NYEF), in partnership with Atlas Professionals, will launch offshore oil- and gas-related training for young people at three coastal towns.
The Greenhand Programme will be rolled out in Windhoek, Walvis Bay, and Lüderitz.
“The Greenhand Programme is designed to provide comprehensive offshore training, equipping Namibian youth with the skills and knowledge necessary to thrive in the oil and gas sector,” says NYEF managing director Andreas Paulus
The same programme has been successfully implemented in other countries, including Aberdeen in the United Kingdom (UK) and Brazil, and is currently underway in Suriname.
Atlas Professionals international business development manager Dorriane Zammit says the training will maximise local content.
“This programme has seen great success in the UK, Brazil, and Suriname, and I am thrilled to bring it to Namibia to upskill the youth and maximise local content,” she says.
This initiative is implemented in partnership with various international oil and gas-drilling companies.
