V/Line's N-class locos first entered service 40 years ago yesterday, 20 Sep 1985 (HT @maxthum.bsky.social). Many are no longer used by V/Line for passenger trains, but I did spot a couple recently in Kensington, now hauling freight trains for SSR... with the old livery still clearly showing. #gunzel
