Last week, our 2 PhD students & colleagues successfully conducted a full turnover of 8 #acousticrecording stations 🎧 out in Aarhus Bay 🌊. The data feeds into a year-round #marinesoundscape monitoring programme to assess #noisedisturbance for #harbourporpoises 🚢🐬(funded by AVJ Naturfond).

Exciting views of 12+ very active #HarbourPorpoises, Berry Head yesterday.
Is photo a false-mating (breach on LHS of another H. Porpoise) or enthusuastic fishing? Wonderful to see.
Cormorants and Shags catching Herring or Mackerel just off the headland. Fish plentiful.

Gutted to be leaving the #OuterHebrides but the crossing this morning from #Castlebay to #Oban was just sublime. Highlights were 3 #MinkeWhale, 30+ bow wave riding #CommonDolphin, #HarbourPorpoises, seals and rafts of #ManxShearwaters the pick of plenty of #seabirds. 💚 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
