Escalating cases of #HRVs are being perpetrated by the junta in #SE Burma, including the arbitrary arrest of #IDPs.
Today, ND-Burma releases our latest report, ‘Documentation in Darkness,’ which presents an overview of #HRVs against innocent civilians in 2024. ND-Burma members documented 1,032 violations over seven States and six regions, including Yangon.

The devastation of the earthquake has not stopped the junta from committing #HRVs against civilians. Despite the military declaring a ceasefire, they deployed an airstrike in northwestern #Burma & killed more than 30 civilians.

the #UNHumanRightsCouncil to immediately address the urgent crisis in the aftermath of the earthquake by condemning the junta's ongoing #HRVs & ensuring an end to all access of weapons to the regime, including a global arms embargo.
The junta's election plans are a SHAM and must not be recognized by the international community. The junta was not democratically elected, and its coup & subsequent #HRVs against innocent people show they are only interested in securing power by any means necessary.

Women and children continue to face widespread #HRVs as the military targets them. Human Rights Myanmar submitted two reports exposing the war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by the military. The junta must be held accountable.
