What a great session from Rupert Knight about Oracy thanks #HTENConf

Important point from @knight-rupert.bsky.social @htenuk.bsky.social #HTENConf about relationship between written & spoken use of language in history -to not use 1st person in our speech would be very odd. Also thinking about how metaphors/phrases translate from writing to speech & back again.

Interviewing @tompalmerauthor.bsky.social for @htenuk.bsky.social was a privilege. Tom's honesty about his personal journey from reluctant reader to author, his research & writing process, & opportunities & limitations inherent in the writing of historical fiction were so refreshing! #HTENConf
