Completely agree with @meesk.bsky.social. Love the small themed conference. Bravo @lucimarz.bsky.social and the rest of the Hollywood Conference team. Already looking forward to the next iteration! #HWC2025

The Hollywood Conference at USC was perfect: highly-quality scholarship on a focused topic, great mix of scholars at all ranks, and lots of time for conviviality and community. Thanks @lucimarz.bsky.social! You’re an ace. #HWC2025

Among the many excellent panels I want to give a shout out to @labuzamovies.com for his panel on crisis with @matthiasellis.com and Alena Smith (showrunner of Dickinson) which moved between theory, labor unions, and precariously lived production experience. #HWC2025

The Hollywood Conference affirmed my love of small, thematic conferences. I saw so many inspiring talks, and there was enough downtime to have actual conversations with people I have known for a long time and with people I just met here. I hope there will be a second iteration. #HWC2025

When Streaming Won’t Cut It and You Need the DVD

Fabulous presentation by film/performing arts librarian Nancy Friedland on challenges that “here today, gone tomorrow” of streaming licensing agreements pose to film education. Included shout out to this recent NYT article!

I'm having serious FOMO about not applying to Console-ing Passions or the very exciting inaugural Hollywood Conference this year. Ya girl needed a serious break and had to stop herself from applying, but OMG THE FOMO. Hope it's going great, @lucimarz.bsky.social! #HWC2025

Looks like Los Angeles is going to show off its A+ weather for the Hollywood Conference this week. Bring your sunglasses for the LA sunshine and light sweaters for our breezy evenings (and overzealous air conditioning in the School of Cinematic Arts). #HWC2025
