But be clear. If you let #ICE set up in #Cass county or #Belton, You're inviting raids at the local #Sams club, the #Walmart across the street and the one in #harrisonville. Man, you must really hate non-whites a lot to wish that on your town.

here's my coverage of the #NoKings in #Harrisonville, #Missouri
Photo: Maurice picks up litter, the bulk of which was already on the sidewalk before the demonstrators showed up. I mean, come on, he was picking up cigarette butts, and none of the demonstrators were smoking. And yeah, he got that little strip of yellow paper right after I snapped this picture. Oh, and also yeah. When Maurice gave me his name, I said, "You know there's this song by the Steve Miller Band that ..." And he said, "Yeah. I know."
#NoKings #Harrisonville, #Missouri:
They left the protest site cleaner than they found it. This, it should be noted, is very much typical of the #Indivisible events I have photographed.

They brought a petition to sign. It's a petition to get a measure on the state ballot that would protect Missouri's initiative petition process from MO-MAGA political interference. (find a link to how & where you can help with this initiative in the alt text)

They brought noise. And bubbles.

Photo: Barb wears a chicken suit. It's not the full chicken suit. It's the chicken suit that gives its wearer the appearance of riding a chicken. The hat, however, is the full chicken taco hat. She also wears a dark grey t-shirt with text that reads, "No Kings. No Fascists. No Tyrants. No Nazis."

Photo: Bart wears a red shirt and eye makeup reminiscent of a court jester. Her knit cap is green and (not shown) is outfitted with googly frog eyes. She says, "My mom made it for me. Isn't it cool?" She stands by the side of a highway and prepares to blow a kiss to a passing car (not shown). Bart does this for the drivers and passengers of all the passing cars: the ones who honk in approval of her message, the ones who just keep driving, and the ones who roll their windows down to yell profanities and flip her off. The kiss will be sent forth on her right hand. In her left hand she holds aloft a sign bearing the Oath of Office administered to all United States federal employees: "I Do Solemnly Swear That I Will Support & Defend The Constitution Of The United States Against All Enemies, Foreign & Domestic;" "That I Will Bear True Faith & Allegiance To The Same: That I Take This Obligation Freely, Without Any Mental Reservation Or Purpose Of Evasion;" "And That I Will Well & Faithfully Discharge The Duties Of This Office On Which I Am About To Enter, So Help Me God." And to this she has appended" – Grandpa, Dad, Me
Photo: Bart leans forward to deliver the kiss she prepared in the previous frame to the driver and passengers of a passing blue car. After delivering the kiss, she looks toward the photographer, points to her sign and says, "This is the oath I took." It is the Oath of Office administered to all United States federal employees: "I Do Solemnly Swear That I Will Support & Defend The Constitution Of The United States Against All Enemies, Foreign & Domestic;" "That I Will Bear True Faith & Allegiance To The Same: That I Take This Obligation Freely, Without Any Mental Reservation Or Purpose Of Evasion;" "And That I Will Well & Faithfully Discharge The Duties Of This Office On Which I Am About To Enter, So Help Me God." And to this she has appended" – Grandpa, Dad, Me

A couple sits in folding lawn chairs on the edge of a sidewalk. They hold home-made signs. One holds a sign fashioned to look like unrolled parchment. It reads, "We have a Constitution. Not a King." It is decorated with a similarly unfurled U.S. flag and a crown perched atop the word "King." The other sign has white letters on black poster board. It reads (in all caps), "No Kings / Est. 1776," and is decorated with an X-ed out crown.
Photo: Two empty lawn chairs sit in grass in front of a banner for a coffee shop (visible in the background). The banner reads, "New! Bacon Cheddar Sliders," and is decorated with two (presumably new) bacon cheddar sliders. The chair on the left is a dark red. The chair on the right has a bright red seat and the seat back has a stars and strips motif.
Three women sit in lawn chairs with a Super Center and other commercial structures behind them. All three wear matching headgear, which consists of frog eyes on each side of the heads. The woman on the left also wears a red Kansas City Chiefs visor and holds a blue sign the reads (in all caps) "People Not Politicians." She also wears a black orthopedic boot and has poked a small U.S. flag into its top. The woman in the middle holds a sign with a small U.S. flag attached to it that reads "I [heart] America." The woman on the right holds a large white poster board with the outline of a blue crown that's been "cancelled" with a red line slashing downward, left to right.

Photo: Robin smiles broadly and waves two U.S. flags in her right hand and holds a home-made "No Kings" sign trimmed in red with a drawing of a crown in the international "prohibited" circle. She wears an ivory-colored t-shirt with a picture of a royal-looking woman in 18th century garb holding a scale. Text on the shirt (not entirely visible in the photo) reads, "If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor."
Photo: BK wears a white t-shirt with a picture of a gold crown with a red X painted across it and the text "NO KINGS." He holds a large U.S. Flag on a white pole. Behind him is the Walmart Super Center parking lot.
Photo: Wendy faces the highway traffic with her back to the camera holding a sign above her head. Her hair pokes through the size adjustment space on the back of her tan ball cap and is held in pony tail by a scrunchy. Poking out of the pony tail is a small U.S. flag. The side of her sign that faces away from the camera and towards the traffic reads, "Preserve, Protect & Defend the Constitution." The side of her sign that faces us reads (in all caps): "Fix Your Policies Instead of Fixing the Election." On her left (and ours) another demonstrator holds a sign. The side of that sign that faces the camera reads, "NO KINGS IN America. The Constitution & Rule of Law Reign."

Photo: Better than 100 demonstrators line two long blocks on the north side of Highway 291 in front of the Walmart Super Center in Harrisonville, Missouri, during a No Kings Rally on 18 October 2025, showing anti-fascist signs and waving the Stars & Stripes to a line of cars on the highway. Many wear yellow shirts. There are a lot of telephone poles. There is a gas station, offering regular unleaded for $2.54 a gallon.
