Just learned via #KTVUch2 #KTVU that Musk has (will?) close the Hawaii Volcano Observatory. OK, the island chain will all the volcanoes, over a magma hotspot lets not monitor it.

Or is this just Musk going after Zuck in some strange way....

Hawaiian Volcano Observatory Evicted Amid Federal Cuts Observatory leaders have assured local emergency officials their public service will continue, but questions linger about how and where that work will happen.

HVO’s being evicted, along with their computers and equipment. Their office (temp until their replacement HQ opens in 2028) is on the GSA list.

No clear word on how this will impact monitoring and comms.
