Tonight I needed to point my mind at summat warmer than the thoughts inside it. Just in time, my Nflix scrolling found the face of @nickofferman.bsky.social . I might be in love with Brett Haley. Movie love. His adoration, affection and fondness for cinematic possibilities move me. He’s also just incredibly nice. Anyhow, see #HeartsBeatLoud at #SIFF2018. It’s terrific. And read my interview with him in June. It’s hopefully okay, too.
Playing #SIFF2018 today are #Blindspotting (which is mesmerizing; one of 2018’s best), Cake General (which is lovely and endearing) and #HeartsBeatLoud (which just made me cry tears of heartfelt joy for like 10 solid minutes). In other words, try to see all three. Just sayin...
