A black, textured plate features seared scallops topped with crispy bacon bits, accompanied by green samphire and a couple of round, gelatinous spheres of apple sauce. The dish is presented with an artistic flair, highlighting the vibrant colors and textures of the ingredients.

A plate features two stuffed aubergines topped with yogurt, pomegranate seeds, and herbs. Next to it is a steak pie dish and mashed potatoes served with greens in a light sauce on a separate plate.

A dessert plate featuring a dark chocolate pithivier, a raspberry sorbet, and berry sauce, garnished with small leaves. Separately, a bowl of vanilla ice cream, a cup of espresso, and three cookies are presented on a wooden tray.

Had a rather fabulous lunch with an old friend at "The Cock" (no sniggering at the back!) in #HemmingfordGrey . Tasty. Lovely staff. Glorious weather, so we were able to sit in the garden too.
