#Shakespeare #HenryIVPart1 I don’t want to offend anyone, but his historical plays are so meh. The most interesting act is the last one, so it’s really difficult to get into the play. Falstaff saves the day.
Delightful visit to the wonderful #berwickhouse today with the #Shropshire branch of @oxforduni society!
This fellow #historichouses house also has a fascinating link to #Shakespeare: via #henryivpart1 - it was #Hotspur's rebel camp!

A few of us are reading the Henriad and reveling in the sharp language, classic themes and baudy details. #HenryIVpart1 #HenryIVpart2 #HenryV_2024 (we've saved the Richards for last, unintentionally).

Fascinating- remember those short acts in #HenryIVpart1 ? So it depends on the material whether to break into separate scenes or not. 🧐
#HenryIVpart1 "But how if honour prick me off when I come on? How then? Can honour set to a leg? ... What is that word 'honour'? Air. A trim reckoning! ... Honour is a mere scutcheon: and so ends my catechism." Wise Falstaff connects honor & death. Act V s.1. #Honour #Honor 📚#Falstaff #War
