A large brown cow moose with her rump to the camera and her head turned to the right, as she nibbles on red twigs. Her face is a warm brown, cheeks & bell are a dark glossy brown. The sunlight brings out the warm tones in her coat.
#Mammal #Herbivor #Ungulate It's World Wildlife Day today. This is my favourite member, a cow moose I've had the privilege of watching raise several calves. This shot is from late March when they are starting to lose the winter coat, so she doesn't look her best. A day in the sun, just her and me.
