National statistics indicate that approximately 65% of girls (double the rate of boys) drop out of sport by the end of puberty due to a lack of physical resilience and a woeful shortage of education around puberty and periods. Highgate’s original plan, formulated three years ago to empower girls to develop physical confidence, has evolved to promote healthy lifestyles and sporting options for all genders; whether it’s girls gaining confidence in traditionally male-dominated sports or boys finding joy in dance and gymnastics.
