"I apologise for earlier." Higuruma stood up and walked around his desk. He kept a good distance between the two of them. "That was inappropriate of me." That was the best apology Higuruma could muster for the nasty look he'd given Nanami when Shimizu had introduced them to each other. "It's not a problem. I was not aware that I was hired without your permission." The tension in the room was palpable. It was clear that Higuruma did not believe Nanami's services to be needed. Higuruma took a deep breath. "Shimizu jumped the gun. We receive threatening letters all the time, so I didn't expect this one to bother her so much." Higuruma leaned against his desk before finally looking Nanami in the eye for the first time. It was a soft hazel brown, the kind of colour that looked plain and boring until a ray of sunlight hits it and suddenly it looks majestic.
