History is more than what's written in a book many years after an event, the stories of individuals and the social context of an era is crucial. That is why this module is so intriguing.
Key takeway. Found studying the history of sexuality fascinating as this module was more or less my introduction to this aspect of history.
Things I liked. 1. Interesting learning about a new aspect of History we've never touched on in UL (ie sex, gender, sexuality) 2. More of a human aspect ie reading Kirk Sessions makesnjt more real, also liked how interactive classes were ๐
Very different to other modules in UL. Made it more into. Very engaging class and assignment good to think outside the box.
I debuted my book module "Sex, Scandal & Sin" this semester @ulhistory.bsky.social Using the Presbyterian archive, we explore themes inc domestic violence, same-sex intimacies, alcohol misuse, transgender lives, paternity disputes & affinal incest. Some key takeaways ๐#HistSex #HistFam
