As it's completely running on my mobile, i still need to figure out a few things
- how to use custom domains
- how I can surf through holos using my computer, if it's in the same network
- what I can do/not do compared to Mastodon

You'll be able to use @you@yourdomain.com as your identity while #ActivityPub traffic is routed through a subdomain. With a single user, a simple static json file will be enough on your root domain. I'm not sure on which side the error is, but I'm not able to follow from my Pixelfed account my Holos account.

In the Pixelfed app I don't see a follow button, in the browser I can click many times, number goes up, but after a reload it's 0.
