Home sick so today’s #HorrorMovieBinge theme is comfort watches. Up first, Anaconda: Blood Orchid. Don’t knock it until you watch it high on cough syrup. 😂
The House of the Devil - very old fashioned. A 70s movie set in the 80s, complete with satanic panic. Not the biggest fan of the naturalist style. And I didn't really find it scary. 2/5

El Conde - what an awful, smug, self indulgent mess of a wes anderson imitation. I hated it as much as I hated any wes anderson movie. It's as of it was acted by puppets controlled be those who hate and mock humanity. Not scary, funny, interesting, or entertaining.
1/5

No One Will Save You - fun, innovative, well executed. And just a little bit scary. I can see why it got so much praise, especially with it's experimental elements.
4/5

The Spine of Night - seems like a feature length segment of Heavy Metal. Much less of a horror movie and more of a dark fantasy. The kind of movie you could see painted on the side of a van, blasting black sabbath.

Host - the 2020 one. That was fun as hell. Wastes no time getting into it, and does it better than unfriended could have hoped for. Just one question: why do the people in these movies always have to be complete assholes??
4/5

The Craft: Legacy - better than the original, and the better witch sequel/revival from a 90s property when compared to hocus pocus. Still, not scary and only mildly entertaining. Liked David Ducovney, but I wish he wasn't just a mustache twirling villain. 3/5
#horrormoviebinge
The Belko Experiment - bloody, violent, and funny. Even though it wasn't directed by James Gunn, it has his fingerprints all over it. The actors were great in it, but the premise was a little thin. Still, it was well executed.
4/5
#horrormoviebinge
Absentia - has the feel of a project movie, a director's first movie, but it was good and features some Flanagan trademarks and scary moments. Lots of parallels with there's something wrong with the children, but Absentia is good and the other sucked. 3/5
#horrormoviebinge
Monster House - honestly, better than I expected. Once you get over the creepy-ass animation style and the dragging first half, it becomes pretty enjoyable. Almost cult classic material. 3/5
#horrormoviebinge
Blade II - before you start, I'd like to remind you GDT directed this. Even though this came out in 2002, this is one 90s-ass movie. Obviously, it's dumb as hell but it's got great visuals and it can be fun if you are forgiving enough. Still not as dumb as blood fest though. 2/5
#horrormoviebinge
I See You - serviceable mystery/thriller with some horror elements. The rashoman technique was new and a satisfying way to reveal the story. It went one twist beyond what I expected. 3/5
#horrormoviebinge
Pontypool - a new and interesting take on the zombie movie. Entertaining, well acted, well paced. Pretty decent. 3/5

We're All Going To The World's Fair - the age of the filmmakers is very apparent. I thought the mixed reviews meant there was more to this movie than it seemed. I was wrong. Novel premise, goes nowhere and means nothing. 1/5
#horrormoviebinge
There's Something Wrong With The Children - had some promise, but ended up being so dumb. Infuriating that they promised an interesting monster and showed nothing. Not to mention badly written characters. The only thing that was believable was the characters hated each other. 2/5
#horrormoviebinge
You Are Not My Mother - "Family is the scariest fucking thing on the planet". Reminds me a little of MEN in the same quiet dread and folk roots. Moody as all blues, but never really engaging or scary. 2/5
#horrormoviebinge
Talk To Me - nicely done little Australian reimagining of Evil Dead. Good acting, decently scary, interesting premise. But most importantly, it was well executed. The movie respected the audience's intelligence and made no missteps. 4/5
#horrormoviebinge
Blood Fest - ugh, what a dumb, dumb movie. What a squandered premise. I absolutely hate it when a movie decides magic is real but doesn't explain anything. All dramatic stakes are immediately wiped out, literally anything can happen in the story. 1/5
#horrormoviebinge
Vivarium - upsetting but not scary. An obvious diatribe about how a suburban life and traditional family are a prison. Some creative twists, but generally too obvious. Feels like it could have been a decent episode of tv. 2/5
#horrormoviebinge
A Haunting In Venice - more of a mystery movie with horror flavors. Not scary mostly because it's handcuffed to the reality created by previous movies in the series. Beautiful to look at though. 3/5
#horrormoviebinge
Monster inside - a Hulu doc all about Russ Mckamey. A well made doc about a truly disgusting man. Gripping throughout, but left me feeling just gross by the end. 3/5 #horrormoviebinge
