Union Migrante and our neighbors of all faiths united in love invite you to join us this coming Thursday, December 18th from 6 -8 pm for a peaceful holiday procession and Posada. Can you join us? We will start at 6pm outside University Hospital on Galvez and Canal, where we will gather to sing carols share words of faith, and hear testimony of neighbors afraid to go to the hospital. We will then march in a candelit procession following a re-enactment of Mary and Joseph seeking Posada, refuge, with a second stop at Canal and Elk Place where they will seek refuge from hotels and businesses. The procession will end at 1300 Perdido St in front of City Hall where they will seek refuge by asking our elected officials to not collaborate with ICE with NOPD, OPSO, and to not use warrantless facail recognition and plate reader technology. The pilgrimage procession/march is one mile total and pace cars are welcome for the mobility impaired. This is a family friendly event appropriate for all ages that will end with ponche (a Mexican Christmas tradition), potluck (please bring what you'd like to share) and pinatas and music at City Hall. This is a spiritual convening to walk our faith in love for our immigrant neighbors and bring light to this darkest of winter nights.
