*After 3 drafts and like 2 full rewrites.
**Continously breaking chapters in half, so it might be more than 20 chapters.

His temper boiled like lava but pulsed through his veins like lightning. As long as it took for him to bottle his rage, Sudriel so easily made it rise like the tides. The rings and stars around him spun like saws, flaring brighter. His hands flexed, turning into claws that would have shifted and changed even more had Sudriel not restrained him with the slightest tilt of her head. All twelve mirrors wiped away into inky blackness, and one of Sudriel’s floating claws pressed against Z’s chest, snuffing out his magic like a candle. His sunlit halo dimmed into a sunset. The rings around his wrists became chains, and the one around his neck became a collar, bringing him forcefully to his knees. He bit back a snarl as an ice cold pain pierced through him as if threatening to freeze him from the inside out. “I am on the edge of making an example of you. Continue to push, and you will be the lesson everyone learns from.” “Don’t threaten me.” He could hear the snarl in his voice echo like hers. The rings glowed just the same as hers. Because he was a tool of her design. No matter what he did, no matter what he said, she would not hear him. She wouldn’t see him. The god title was generous at best.
Here's another snippet of this funky story about a Chaos God trying to find peace despite being a villain.

Z has been named just "Z" for as long as I've had him lol. His full name isn't really a spoiler as much as it is symbolic that he's a god that's not respected, so the people have forgotten his actual name.
(That and I figured out his actual name way later lmao)

For It Ends With Z, the most niche thing I had to research is how far it is to travel on foot from the Himalayas to Nepal, India with and without cattle. And with a realistic amount of stops.

“Mother?!” Yonten squeaked out in surprise, not realizing how much he pressed into Primula until both gods looked at him and Jade stepped closer. He hadn’t expected such an adored goddess to be so… unsettling. Through all of her glamor, as she got closer, Yonten noticed just how perfect she was— too perfect. Her every move was smooth and purposeful. Unlike Z, who never seemed to breathe, Jade mimic’d humanity in that fashion except every breath was even and precise. Nothing about her felt natural or even relaxed. Malicious felt like the wrong word for it, but Yonten could think of no other one that would ease the pit growing in his stomach.

I'm in the final editing stages here but the edits also turn into rewrites turn into additions... 7 chapters out of 17 edited but 17 is such an odd number of chapters lol. 68,000 words so far tho.
